DescriptionThe Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS) is a "large-scale international interdisciplinary experiment in the northern boreal forests of Canada". The study's aim is to understand the dynamics of boreal forests using satellite data and improved to computer simulation, and answer questions about their interaction with the atmosphere, their carbon-dioxide uptake, and their possible response to climatic change. This site gives an overview of the 85 science teams, organised into six disciplinary groups, who make up the BOREAS research team. Maps of the study region are provided, as well as result summaries and lists of papers produced.
