DescriptionThe International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) conducts inter-disciplinary scientific research in several areas, including forestry. The goal of the IIASA Forestry Project is "to improve international policy setting regarding sustainable development of the world's forests." To that end, they support various research projects, whose activities and publications can be accessed through this site. These include research on carbon analysis & the Kyoto protocol, institutions and markets in the Russian forest sector, use of remote sensing and GIS in carbon analysis activities, information technology and paper consumption, Russian forest resource analyses, and eastern enlargement of European forest-related industries.
