DescriptionThe Aegean Dendrochronology Project at the Malcolm and Carolyn Wiener Laboratory for Aegean and Near Eastern Dendrochronology, is based at Cornell University. Its goal is "to build a single master tree-ring chronology for the Aegean and Near East that will extend from the present to the seventh millennium B.C. or whenever timbers began to be used in quantity as construction material in settled communities". The Web site includes access to the abstracts and full text of 3 research papers published by the team in Science Magazine, annual reports, and an almost current bar graph that provides a general view of the periods from which the team have dated wood, graphed according to species. The Laboratory is supported by a number of organisations including the National Science Foundation, and the National Geographic Society.
