DescriptionThe Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) is an autonomous educational Institute funded by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India. The IIFM educational opportunities include post-graduate diplomas, and MPhil as well as short training courses. Research is carried out on joint forest management, non-timber forest products, and research under the Forest, Trees and People Programme of the FAO. Two research centres are dedicated to special focus areas: International Centre For Community Forestry; and Regional Centre of the National Afforestation and Eco-development Board. National and international management consultancies are undertaken. Also at the site is the Forest Information System - a databank of links to Indian and international resources on the Internet.
