DescriptionNASA Landsat Pathfinder humid tropical deforestation project, undertaken by the Department of Geography at the University of Maryland, uses data sets from both the Thematic Mapper and Multispectral Scanner System of Landsat to map deforestation in the humid tropics during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Data for Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of Congo is downloadable at the site as "a tar'd and compressed Arc/Info Export File" ,with accompanying ReadMe file. Data from other African and Pan Amazon countries can be obtained free on application to the Global Land Cover Facility at The University of Maryland.
