DescriptionThe online version of "Flora of North America : North of Mexico" gives access to a text-only version of vol.1 (the introduction) as well as the full content, with illustrations, of volumes 2 and 3; vol.22 is currently being added. The Flora of North America project aims to provide up to date information on the names, relationships, characteristics and descriptions of the approximately 21,000 species of plants that grow outside of cultivation in America, north of Mexico. The work will be completed in 30 volumes. The database is searchable by keyword, taxon or any word from the text. Searches can also be limited by area and there is an alphabetical browse list of taxa. The project's newsletter is available online from 1990 onwards.
