The information is available as grid or point maps for up to five species at a location or as bar charts, a visualization of frequency of occurrence in user defined regions. The database includes millions of separate observations since 2002 and can be searched by an advanced search engine.
eBird is an open access database collecting observations by professional an amateur bird watchers.
The Project was launched 2002 by Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society.
